Outdoor Activities

A two-day residential outdoor activity adventure is organised by the principal for Sixth Class each year. This is held during the month of June, the pupils’ final weeks at primary school. The group has been to a number of Adventure Centres, the most popular being Petersburg Outdoor Education Centre in Clonbur, Co Galway. This centre is run to the highest standards under the auspices of Galway VEC. A number of parents also join the trip, their primary role relating to safety issues. This event is regarded as a highlight in the school’s calendar! The Sixth Class teacher is not expected to join this trip (having already spent a week with the children in the Gaeltacht). However, he/he is most welcome!
